"It's hard to come up with a name that would honor the city's political, living and symbolic dimensions equally," Green said. "Proposals that use the name Frederick Douglass, like 'Douglass Commonwealth,' come close, insofar as he was an important political figure, a prominent member of the city's African American community and a symbol of abolitionism." ...
