Duilia de Mello, professor, physics, was quoted in a Catholic News Service story about the upcoming solar eclipse on Aug. 21.

... De Mello said viewing an eclipse can help people understand that nature really controls their lives, not the mundane actions of human beings.

“It’s all so ephemeral. We are not in control of anything. All of a sudden it’s night during the day,” de Mello told CNS.
