CUA to Welcome About 1,800 Young People on Eve of March for Life

On Thursday, Jan. 21, approximately 1,800 pro-life pilgrims will be greeted by Catholic University students as they arrive at CUA's Raymond A. DuFour [Athletic] Center and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Thursday night, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Basilica and CUA will co-sponsor the National Prayer Vigil for Life. Mass will be celebrated in the Basilica's Great Upper Church at 7 p.m. by Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, archbishop of Galveston-Houston, who is chairman of the U.S. bishops' Committee on Pro-Life Activities. More than 20,000 pilgrims traditionally attend this Mass. The following morning, hundreds of CUA students will join the pilgrims in the 31st annual March for Life. CUA students attending the march will gather at 10:15 a.m. in Caldwell Hall's auditorium to prepare for the event downtown.
