Students participate in the Way of the Cross.
Catholic University's annual "Candlelight Way of the Cross" is featured in a United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) video. Each year, CUA students commemorate Christ's Way of the Cross by journeying through campus, stopping at 14 locations where they pray and reflect while other students carry a life-sized cross. The procession, sponsored by CUA's Office of Campus Ministry, ends on the steps of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception."This has become the key moment in the life of the Church on our campus for Holy Week," Rev. Robert Schlageter, O.F.M. Conv., university chaplain and director of campus ministry, says at the beginning of the video .The video, which shows the 2009 "Candlelight Way of the Cross" in three segments, was produced by CUA alumna Ellen McCloskey of the USCCB.The annual Holy Week tradition will be held at 8 p.m. today, March 29, beginning at the Office of Campus Ministry in Caldwell Hall.
