The following statement was issued by Most Reverend John J. Myers, Archbishop of Newark, on the appointment of Bishop-Elect David M. O'Connell, CM, as Co-Adjutor Bishop of Trenton. I welcome Bishop-Elect David O'Connell as Co-Adjustor Bishop of Trenton. He and I have worked together both at The Catholic University and on projects with the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. I have seen first-hand the extent of his educational and administrative talents, and the depth of his caring for the Church and her people.I am confident that he will serve well and faithfully the people of this local Church of Trenton as he begins his new ministry in our state's capital city.
