Last year's Homecoming tent party

The Catholic University of America expects to welcome more than 1,000 alumni and friends to campus Oct. 1, 2 and 3 for Homecoming and Reunions Weekend 2010, a CUA tradition featuring a football game, a pre-game tent party and special celebrations for classes of different years.

"The Alumni Association will welcome more than 1,000 alumni and friends back to campus for a weekend full of memories and fun," says Kyra Lyons, executive director of alumni relations.

"From reunion class celebrations to the pre-game tent party, alumni will celebrate their shared CUA experience. The Homecoming and Reunions Mass and All Cardinals Champagne Brunch round out the weekend's festivities. Alumni, friends, faculty and staff are welcome!"

The Homecoming football game pits the Cardinals against the Tigers of Virginia's Hampden-Sydney College at the Raymond A. DuFour Athletic Center. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.

Returning alumni who would like to learn more about CUA students of yesteryear can visit a new exhibit in the lobby of the John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library. The exhibit, "Portal to the Past: Reflections of Student Life," features CUA memorabilia donated to the university by 11 alumni who attended the university between 1915 and 1959 or their families. The items include beanies, pins, pennants and photographs, among other things.
