For the faculty and staff of Catholic University, the Christmas recess begins at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22. Some administrators, faculty and staff will have access to campus buildings on Thursday, December 23. The entire university campus and all buildings, however, will be closed at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, and will remain closed until Monday, Jan. 3, at 9 a.m., when university offices reopen.

Please note the following information about particular offices and buildings on campus.

The following office will be closed from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, until 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011:

  • Nugent Hall/the President's Administrative Office

The following offices and buildings will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 23, until Monday, Jan. 3:

  • All Academic Buildings
  • Offices of Academic Administration and Academic Deans
  • All Administrative Offices of Student Life
  • Office of Enrollment Management (including Admissions, Financial Aid and Enrollment Services)
  • Office of Human Resources
  • Office of University Development (including Development Services)
  • Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center
  • Columbus School of Law building
  • John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library
  • Leahy Hall Computer Labs
  • Cardinal Station Post Office
  • Cashier's Office in Leahy Hall
  • Engraving & Printing Federal Credit Union

The CUA Bookstore will be closed to the public from Thursday, Dec. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 2. It will reopen for business on Monday, Jan. 3 (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.).

The Eugene I. Kane Student Health and Fitness Center will be closed, with no access provided, from Saturday, Dec. 18, until Monday, Jan. 10.

The Raymond A. Du Four Athletic Center will be closed to the general public from the close of business on Wednesday, Dec. 22, until Monday, Jan. 3, except for scheduled games, supervised basketball and swimming practices, gym maintenance and a registration-only baseball camp.

The Department of Public Safety will be open with limited staff throughout Christmas recess. In the event of an emergency, call the department at 202-319-5111.
