CUA Experts Available to Discuss Beatification of Pope John Paul II

Several experts at The Catholic University of America are available to discuss Pope John Paul II and his upcoming beatification on Sunday, May 1.   • LITURGY AND THE BEATIFICATION CEREMONY - Monsignor Kevin Irwin, dean of the School of Theology and Religious Studies, was a frequent commentator for the media on liturgical matters related to Pope John Paul II's death and funeral.   • THE TEACHINGS OF POPE JOHN PAUL II - John S. Grabowski, associate professor of theology and religious studies, is a professor of moral theology. His research interests include the teachings of Pope John Paul II, especially those related to marriage, the family, and sexuality. Last month, Grabowski gave a presentation titled "The Luminous Excess of the Acting Person: Assessing Venerable Pope John Paul II's Impact on American Catholic Moral Theology" at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.   • BEATIFICATION PROCESS - Rev. Mark Morozowich, associate dean for the seminary and ministerial program of the School of Theology and Religious Studies, can discuss general topics related to Pope John Paul II and the beatification process.
