The tribute website to Bishop David M. O'Connell, C.M. received best online presentation.

The Catholic Press Association (CPA) has honored CUA Magazine , which is mailed to more than 65,000 Catholic University alumni and friends, with two first-place awards and one second-place honor.

The University received first-place awards for best essay - “God Chose a Baby Girl” by alumna Carmen Wong - and best online/multi-media presentation for the tribute website to Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., 14th president of the University .

The spring 2010 cover story “Apocalypse Averted: How Edward Liddy Helped Pull the U.S. Back from the Brink,” by Victor Nakas, associate vice president for public affairs, won second place for best interview.

CPA announced the awards June 24 at the conclusion of the 2011 Catholic Media Convention in Pittsburgh. Since 2006, CUA Magazine has won more than 20 awards from the association, which represents more than 600 member organizations in the United States and Canada.
