Architecture School Presents Fall Lecture Series

Talks Explore Contemporary German Architecture

The School of Architecture and Planning at The Catholic University of America presents its fall lecture series, focusing on contemporary German architecture. The event is cosponsored by the Embassy of Germany and the Goethe Institut.

All lectures will take place in the Edward M. Crough Center for Architectural Studies, Koubek Auditorium, unless otherwise noted.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 7, 5:30 p.m., "Dreams and Reality from the Roots of Contemporary German Architecture," by Alan Balfour, dean of the College of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Wednesday, Sept. 21, noon, "Future Building Techniques," by Werner Sobek, principal architect at Werner Sobek in Frankfurt, Germany, and director of the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design, Stuttgart, Germany.   • Wednesday, Nov. 9, 5:30 p.m., "Old and New: Contextual Urban Space and Architecture in European Cities," by Karin Kellner, Lutz Schleich, and Eckhard Wunderling, principal architects at Kellner Schleich Wunderling Architekten + Stadtplaner in Hannover, Germany
