METRO TRACK WORK ON COMMENCEMENT DAY

We advise members of the campus community and their guests who are preparing to come to campus Saturday for Commencement via Metrorail to read the following information from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

Metro will perform major track work over this weekend, May 17-19, 2013. The work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and continue through system closing on Sunday.

RED LINE SINGLE TRACKING Trains will single track through two work zones: between Van Ness-UDC and Dupont Circle and between Rhode Island Ave. and Takoma. Throughout the day, Red Line trains will operate every 24 minutes in each direction, with additional trains operating between Dupont Circle and NoMa-Gallaudet U during daytime hours for service about every 10 minutes.

ORANGE LINE MAJOR TRACK WORKFree shuttle buses will replace Orange Line trains between the East Falls Church and Clarendon stations. Two stations - Ballston and Virginia Sq-GMU - will be closed. Customers using shuttle bus service should add up to 25 minutes to their travel time.GREEN LINE MAJOR TRACK WORKFree shuttle buses will replace Green Line trains between the Greenbelt and West Hyattsville stations. Three stations will be closed: Greenbelt, College Park, and Prince George's Plaza. Customers using shuttle bus service should add up to 35 minutes to their travel time.
