Rain Plan for Diploma Distribution Ceremonies

Although the University was able to hold the 2014 General Commencement ceremony outside, the inclement weather forecast necessitates that we adjust the venues for some of the diploma distribution ceremonies. The following changes have been made to locations of diploma distribution ceremonies, which will begin following the main Commencement ceremony:

The School of Arts and Sciences will move to the Great Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

The School of Nursing will move to the Raymond A. DuFour Athletic Center.

The School of Architecture and Planning will move to the Edward M. Crough Center for Architectural Studies.

Three schools have tenting that provides cover for their outdoor ceremonies. They are the Metropolitan School of Professional Studies, the School of Engineering, and the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music. Those who plan to participate in those ceremonies are asked at the conclusion of the General Commencement to proceed to the scheduled outdoor locations where they will receive further instructions as to whether conditions will permit an outdoor, tented ceremony or whether it will be necessary to move indoors.

All other schools will conduct their diploma ceremonies in the places that have been previously announced.
