Cardinal Gerhard Müller

Cardinal Gerhard Müller, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, will speak at The Catholic University of America on Monday, Nov. 3. His lecture, " Donum Veritatis : The Contribution of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to the Theological Enterprise," will take place at 4:30 p.m. in Caldwell Auditorium.

Cardinal Müller comes to CUA as the invited guest of University President John Garvey. His lecture is hosted by the University's School of Theology and Religious Studies.

"When President John Garvey learned that Cardinal Müller would be in Washington this fall, he felt it would be a wonderful opportunity to invite him to speak at Catholic University - the national University of the Catholic Church in America," said Frank Persico, vice president for University relations and chief of staff for the President.

"So, as a University community we are grateful that His Eminence will be able to join us and speak on campus and tie in our 'theological enterprise' with the work of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith," said Persico.

He became the chair of dogmatic theology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 1986 and is currently an honorary professor there. In 2002, he was consecrated bishop of Regenburg.
