It's been a busy semester for the students and faculty of the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music and the Department of Drama and local media has noticed. What follows is a roundup of press mentions CUA performers have received in recent months. - Senior Nathan Blair was interviewed by DC Metro Theatre Arts on March 15 about his conducting role in the spring opera Rigoletto . Read more . - Richard Szczepanowski of the Catholic Standard wrote about the music school's Stations of the Cross , which featured 14 original string quartets inspired by the stations. M.F.A. acting candidates perform in the drama production, "Conversations I've Never Had."

- Gail Stewart Beach, costume designer and associate chair of drama, was mentioned in a theatre review in The Washington Post for her work with Rep Stage's Circle Mirror Transformation . Read more . - Jon Klein, head of the M.F.A. Playwriting Program, was recognized in The Washington Post for receiving a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. - The New York Times featured an article about a recent performance of "Defiant Requiem" in New York. The piece, which commemorates a Jewish choir killed in the Terezin concentration camp, was created and conducted by Murry Sidlin, ordinary professor of conducting in the music school. Read more.
