McMahon Classroom Dedicated to Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

Members of the University community gathered for a room dedication ceremony Wednesday, April 15, in McMahon Hall 112, a classroom where the venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen taught during his 23 years as a philosophy teacher at Catholic University.

Rev. Jude DeAngelo, O.F.M. Conv., University chaplain and director of Campus Ministry, blessed the classroom and a new plaque honoring Archbishop Sheen (right). Very Rev. Mark Morozowich, interim provost, John McCarthy, dean of the School of Philosophy, and Rev. Andrew Apostoli, C.F.R., vice-postulator for Archbishop Sheen's canonization cause, gave reflections on his life.

The room blessing was a part of the University's Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Week. Other events included a panel discussion, "Media and the New Evangelization." For more information about Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen's time at CUA, visit fulton-sheen.cua.edu .
