The School of Theology and Religious Studies will host a viewing of Shalom Media’s Glorious Lives, episode 1, a documentary on the life of Cardinal Francis George, O.M.I. The viewing will be followed by a panel discussion on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 at 5 p.m. in Maloney Hall, Della Ratta Auditorium at Catholic University. 

Panelists will include:

  • Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, Ill. 
  • Bishop Robert Barron, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles and founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries
  • Michael Heinlein, editor of Simply Catholic and biographer of Cardinal George
  • Mary Hallan FioRito, Cardinal Francis George Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center
  • Robert Royal, president of the Faith and Reason Institute
  • Chad Pecknold, associate professor of theology in Catholic University’s School of Theology and Religious Studies

"Cardinal Francis George, a man of many gifts, impacted the national and international Catholic Church,” said Very Rev. Mark Morozowich, dean of the School of Theology and Religious Studies. “Cardinal George spent his life in service to others as a scholar, priest, and bishop. Indeed, he will be remembered for his great faith and intellect. We are happy to share his inspiring story and contribute to the preservation of his legacy."    

Cardinal George was a member of the University’s Board of Trustees for more than 20 years and earned a master of arts degree from Catholic University in 1965.
