People in prayer at 2020 Mass of St. Thomas Aquinas

Last year's St. Thomas Aquinas Mass

The Catholic University of America and the Dominican House of Studies will kick off the second semester of the academic year at the annual University Mass in honor of our patron St. Thomas Aquinas.

The votive Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 4, in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at 12:10 p.m. It will be broadcast live on EWTN and CatholicTV. Since seating for the Mass is limited and by invitation only, the public and broader University community are invited to celebrate through these livestreams

In person attendance will be limited. An announcement is forthcoming on who will be permitted to attend.

This year's celebrant and homilist is Very Rev. Aquinas Guilbeau, O.P., Prior of the Dominican House of Studies.

MEDIA: Because of restrictions on the number who may attend, media are invited to tune in to the Mass on EWTN or CatholicTV. Reporters who are covering the Mass can contact the Office of Marketing and Communications at communications@cua.edu or 202-319-5600 to receive any transcripts that are made available.
