The Catholic University of America is now an approved tuition assistance partner for the Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program.  An initiative of the Veterans Administration, the program is designed to assist veterans who became unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in retraining for high-demand jobs.

Veterans may receive up to 12 months of free tuition for approved programs in the University’s Metropolitan School for Professional Studies. These include an associates of arts degree in human service administration, associates of arts degree in paralegal studies, certificate in information technology, and a certificate in data analytics.

“I am extremely proud of The Catholic University of America's recent acceptance as a partner institution to the Department of Veterans Affairs via the Veterans Rapid Retraining Assistance Program. This is a fantastic program to help provide our excellent academic programs to deserving veterans during this challenging period," said Stephen Murphy, director of the Office of Military and Veteran Student Services (OMVSS) at the University.

The University’s support for veterans has received national attention. The Military Times included the University in its 2021 Best for Vets: Colleges list, and the University has been designated a gold-level institution by the Military Friendly Company.

The OMVSS provides a wide range of support for veterans and dependents. Recognized as a Principles of Excellence institution for the GI Bill® and the University’s sponsor of ROTC and Department of Defense tuition assistance, the program also serves as the student services point of contact for military-affiliated students, as the campus ROTC contact, and as the admissions liaison for military, veteran, military dependents and rotc candidates at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
