Deanne (Dee) Roe Gipson, Ph.D., is the new vice president for enrollment management at Catholic University.
As vice president, Gipson will oversee the University’s Office of Enrollment Management, which includes undergraduate and graduate admissions, student financial assistance, and enrollment services, as well as the registrar’s office.
“Dee brings leadership, problem solving, and research skills to guide the University in growing both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Through strategically formulating new processes supported by data analytics, we are confident in her abilities to guide the team,” said Dr. Peter Kilpatrick, University President, in a message to campus.
Gipson has a strong background in Catholic higher education enrollment management as well as corporate leadership. Most recently she was vice president of enrollment management for Ave Maria University in Florida, during which time enrollment increased 38%.
Gipson also was the recruitment strategies program director for the University of Notre Dame from 2017 to 2020, with a focus on graduate enrollment. Before turning to higher education, she worked for 18 years in corporate management with Intercontinental Hotels Group. There she served as director of training and human resource development and as the general manager of hotel operations for six hotels.
She has been an adjunct professor in the area of hospitality management and, for 12 years, she created and facilitated formation classes for adults, young adults, and youth in the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
Gipson earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, a master’s degree from Rollins College, and a doctorate in human environmental sciences from Oklahoma State University.
