Advisor to the Vatican

Father McPartlan is a member of the International Theological Commission, a group of 30 theologians which advises the Vatican on theological issues and also of the Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue Between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church.

Previous experience both in Anglican-Roman Catholic and Roman Catholic-Methodist dialogue at the international level.
