| DETAILS: | Catholic University's School of Architecture and Planning is partnering with the Embassy of India and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to present a lecture titled "Bombay - Past Present Future" by architect Dhiru A. Thadani. The lecture is the first event in the school's 2010 Spring Lecture Series "Crossing Boundaries: Modernism and Indian Cultural Traditions." Past lecture series have explored the architecture of Peru, Norway, Austria, Finland, Switzerland and Japan in partnership with embassies in D.C. Dhiru A. Thadani is principal at Thadani Architect, Washington, D.C., and former principal and director of town planning in the firm of Ayers/Saint/Gross with offices in Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Phoenix. Thadani has practiced architecture in Asia, Europe and North and Central America since 1980. Thadani is both a charter and board member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, a non-profit organization that promotes neighborhood-based development as an alternative to sprawl. Thadani has been involved in new developments, urban retrofits and neighborhood revitalization. A reception will follow.
