Catholic University's Institute for Policy Research & Catholic Studies (IPR) is sponsoring a video contest on the topic "Videos for Justice: Today's Youth Exploring the Common Good." The grand prize winner of the contest - open to all graduate and undergraduate University students - will receive $1,000.
Contestants are asked to creatively examine the concept of the common good and human dignity through any of the following themes in the most creative manner they can:
Videos are being accepted through March 15, and must be no longer than four minutes. All finalist videos will be displayed on the IPR blog, and the grand prize winner will be chosen through public voting and panelist input in early April. Additionally, the winner's video will be promoted by IPR and presented in various public forums.
Stephen Schneck, director of IPR and acting dean of the National Catholic School of Social Service, notes that "justice and the common good are the essence of public life." He said he hopes to challenge the students of CUA to "show us and the world what these ideas really mean."
