The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at The Catholic University of America presents the following events for the fall 2014 semester.

Carousel This year's fall musical theatre show, "Carousel," takes place Friday, Oct. 17 and 24, and Saturday, Oct. 18 and 25, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Oct. 19 and 25, at 2 p.m., at CUA's Hartke Theater, 3801 Harewood Road. Music is by Richard Rodgers, book & lyrics by Oscar Hamerstein II. Tickets are $20 for general admission; $15 for CUA alumni; and $10 for seniors, students, and CUA faculty and staff. Composition Program Recital Student compositions from the music school's Composition Program will be performed on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m., at John Paul Rehearsal Hall.
Chamber Choir The Catholic University Chamber choir will perform at St. Vincent de Paul Chapel on Friday, November 7 at 7:30 pm, with Leo Nestor, professor and director of the Institute of Sacred Music, as conductor.
CUA Symphony Orchestra The orchestra will perform on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 4 p.m., at Hartke Theater.
Susannah The fall opera, "Susannah," will be performed Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 20-22, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m., in Ward Recital Hall. Music is by Carlisle Floyd and will be sung in English with English surtitles. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $10 for seniors, students, and CUA alumni, faculty, and staff, and can be purchased at http://music.cua.edu .
CUA Wind Ensemble The CUA Wind Ensemble will perform on Wednesday, Dec.3, at 7:30 p.m., in Hartke Theatre.
Annual Christmas Concert for Charity The 25th Annual Christmas Concert for Charity will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., in the Great Upper Church at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Ave., N.E., Washington, D.C. The concert will feature CUA Chamber Choir, University Singers, University Chorus and the CUA Symphony Orchestra with Leo Nestor, professor and director of the Institute of Sacred Music, as conductor. The opening work has been written by Jeff Cortazzo, a CUA graduate student in musical composition. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit a local charity, which will be named later this fall.
