Planetizen Guide Ranks Program in Top 15 Small Programs
The School of Architecture and Planning's Master’s in City and Regional Planning (MCRP) program was named the 15th best small program of its kind in the Planetizen Guide to Graduate Urban Planning Programs, 4th Edition.
"The Planetizen Guide provides the only rankings of urban planning programs in the country," says Hazel Ruth Edwards, director of the CUA program. "Its performance indicator-based rankings are widely used.
"As a young program [it was founded in 2008], to be listed as one of the top small programs in the country is an important step towards building a national reputation," she says. "This ranking is recognition of the quality of our academic offering, the commitment we have to the practice of urban planning, and the hard work of our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends."
The guide states the following about Catholic University's program:
Much of what city planners do helps create communities, accommodate population growth, and revitalize physical facilities. The MCRP program provides the training to work with community stakeholders to create alternatives to their problems. ... The transparency between architecture, sustainable design, and planning programs expands opportunities within the school to better prepare students to design our growing cities and revitalize declining communities.
