In March, they came together to help elect a new pope. In May, several American cardinals came together to help support scholarships for students attending the Catholic University of America. Four U.S. cardinal electors from the recent conclave, and one retired cardinal, were among the 650 guests at the 24th American Cardinals Dinner on May 10 in Washington, D.C., which raised nearly $1.7 million for CUA scholarships, the second highest total in the dinner's history.
