Last spring, Christiana Gellert was thinking about the upcoming summer break when she found herself wondering if there was a place for a summer ministry for college-aged parishioners at Our Lady of Peace.
"I was looking for a way to maintain connections with my parish and hometown friends while giving back to the community," she said.
With the help of Tracey Viera, the youth minister at Our Lady of Peace, and an OK from Father Bill, she and Viera reached out to others who had been part of the high school ministry and soon there were about a dozen people interested in taking part.
"We kicked off the ministry by roasting s'mores and discussing the New Evangelization," said Gellert. It was the end of June and just the beginning of a summer of helping others. ...
