The Archdiocese of St. Louis is preparing to host the 26th annual American Cardinals Dinner in 2015.
Archbishop Robert J. Carlson held a private kickoff event last week for the cardinals dinner, set for April 24 at the Ritz-Carlton. Charles and Shirley Drury are co-chairs. John Garvey, president of The Catholic University of America, attended the kickoff event.
The benefit dinner is the traditional fundraiser for scholarships to The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., which was founded by the U.S. bishops 127 years ago. Each year, a different diocese or archdiocese hosts the black-tie event. Since its inauguration, the annual dinner has raised more than $29.5 million to support scholarships for Catholic University students.
