Celebration Honoring CUA-Grad Archbishop Sheen to Draw Students Closer to the Saints

Sister Maria Frassati Jakupcak, co-chair of Sheen Legacy Committee at CUA, related that the University chose to celebrate Archbishop Sheen this semester because this March marks the 75th anniversary of his first appearance on television. She also said that it makes sense for the University to celebrate Archbishop Sheen "in the light of the Holy Father's emphasis on the New Evangelization."

The potential of having an officially recognized saint with a shared CUA experience is exciting for students, Sr. Maria Frassati explained. "It makes the connections to the saints a lot more real when we are talking about somebody" who studied at the same university.
