For Catholic University of America junior forward Corey Stanford, scoring has never been a problem.
Since stepping onto the court with the Cardinals in his freshman season in 2012-13, the Penn-Trafford grad has been one of the team's most consistent scorers.
On Feb. 3, Stanford became the 43rd player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.
"It is pretty cool knowing the legacy before me," Stanford said. "I definitely knew coming into the year I was close and need 200 or 300 points. But I always put it in the back of my mind and just worried about winning.
"If you score 1,000 and are on the losing team, not a lot of people will remember you. But if you win and score 1,000, people will be like 'oh yeah, he was that guy.'" ...
