University President John Garvey was quoted in a Crux story compiling Catholic reactions to President Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

... Yet on the issue of abortion, Garnett said the manner in which Kennedy continued to support the Court’s decision in Roe was “unfortunate.” He also added that his decision in Obergefell “moved the law away from the Catholic understanding of what marriage is.”

Surveying those changes, legal scholar and president of the Catholic University of America, John Garvey, told Crux that “there are a number of issues that have opening up between the Church and where the culture is going and a lot of people are hoping future rulings [by the court] will change that.” ...
