University President John Garvey;, Susan Timoney, associate dean, undergraduate studies, director, certificate in pastoral ministry, and ordinary professor, practice;, Chad Pecknold, associate professor, theology;, and Rev. Paul Sullins, retired associate professor, sociology;, were all quoted in a Washington Post story about Catholic Universities initiatives to finding answers and having dialogue about the causes of the clergy abuse crisis.

U.S. Catholics know they are in the thick of a clergy sexual abuse crisis, but that’s where agreement ends. When the abuse topic exploded in the church in the early 2000s, everyone knew the focus was stopping the shuffling around and coverup of priests abusing children.
