Frederick Ahearn, a professor with Catholic University's National Catholic School of Social Service, is the recipient of the Columbia University School of Social Work Hall of Fame Award for 2010.The hall of fame honors alumni who make outstanding contributions to the theory and practice of social work and add distinction to the social work profession.Ahearn, who also is co-director of CUA's Center for International Social Development, will receive the award at the annual dinner of Columbia University's School of Social Work Alumni Association on April 23.He holds a Doctor of Social Work from Columbia University and a Master of Social Work from CUA. He was the recipient of the 2009 Council on Social Work Education's Global Education Award and the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Social Workers.
