The Catholic University of America is hosting several events in March in honor of Women's History Month.The cornerstone of Women's History Month at Catholic University will be "Forging Our Future: Women Making History at CUA" on Wednesday, March 17, in Room 320A/B in the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center. Female faculty members will mingle with students to talk about their careers and give them advice on how to launch their own."While classes are an outstanding forum for formal education, this offering, set in an informal venue, can further help students explore career paths for women and men alike," says Patricia McMullen, associate provost for academic administration and associate professor of nursing.Throughout the month, the Office of Campus Activities will be collecting items for Calvary Women's Services, which provides housing and support to homeless women in Washington, D.C. Items should be dropped off in Room 107 of the Pryzbyla Center between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.In 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first proclamation establishing the week of March 8th as National Women's History Week. "Women's Fitness and Wellness" Tuesday, March 2 6-7 p.m., Aquinas Hall, Room 102 Marie Kennedy, fitness director of CUA's Eugene I. Kane Student Health and Fitness Center, and Lauren Haynie, CUA's head athletic trainer, will speak about easy ways to exercise, lose weight and eat healthy. The event is sponsored by Kappa Tau Gamma, Delta Sigma Theta, Gratia Plena and the Student Nurses Association.

"Women in Sports" Wednesday, March 3 6 p.m., Pryzbyla Center, Room 327 Sandra Hanson, professor of sociology and Institute for Policy Research & Catholic Studies fellow, will tie themes from the Winter Olympics to the celebration of Women's History Month. The event is sponsored by the Office of Campus Activities.

"Forging Our Future: Women Making History at CUA" Wednesday, March 17 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Pryzbyla Center, Room 320A/B All Catholic University students are invited to meet with women on CUA's faculty to learn about their accomplishments and receive advice on career paths. There will be giveaways and refreshments throughout the event, which is sponsored by the Women's Faculty Collaborative and the Office of Student Life.

"Salary Negotiations and Other Professional Issues for Women" Tuesday, March 23 5-7 p.m., Pryzbyla Center, Room 323 Kathryn Marshall, associate director in the Office of Career Services, will lead the workshop for women.

Powderpuff Football Game Saturday, March 27 1 p.m., Columbus School of Law Lawn Teams of female football players will compete against each other and then enjoy a barbecue. Those interested in playing in the game should contact Gabby Cugini at
