DETAILS:

Margaret McGuinness, professor and chair of the Department of Religion at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, will speak about American female saints during the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Annual Lecture at CUA. McGuiness, who holds a Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, is the author of Settlement Sisters: A History of the Sisters of Christian Doctrine and co-editor of American Catholic Studies; Catholic Studies Reader , both of which are being published this year. Her current research and writing project, "Called to Serve," is a history of women religious in the United States. The lecture is free and open to the public.
