Washington, D.C. - Catholic University's National Catholic School of Social Service (NCSSS) will start enrolling students Dec. 1, for its new Employee Assistance Online Educational Program, the first such web course offered by a U.S. school of social work.
Designed by Dale Masi, Ph.D.,C.E.A.P., one of the leading international experts in employee assistance programs (EAP), the CUA program will be available to students worldwide beginning April 2011. For more information and to register online for the program, visit http://eap.cua.edu .
The program was designed by Masi, resident scholar at NCSSS, and professor emeritus, University of Maryland, where she directed the EAP specialization in the Master in Social Work program for more than 20 years. Masi, who earned her doctorate from NCSSS, is the author of 14 books on EAPs, and president/CEO of MASI Research Consultants. She has been a leader in the EAP field for more than 25 years.

Students can register for up to four four-week courses. They will earn 24 professional development hours per course for a total of 96 PDHs (for which Catholic University will apply) and 24 social work continuing education units per course for a total of 96 CEUs. Students who complete all four courses will receive a Professional Education Certificate in Employee Assistance Programs.
Masi will teach the first monthlong course, titled "EAPs in the New Millennium," beginning on April 1, 2011. The remaining courses, which will be offered in May, June, and July 2011, include:
