This year, students, alumni, faculty, and staff are logging hours from their long-term charitable work in the Cardinal Service Commitment, a University-wide campaign to perform 125,000 hours of service by next Founders Day, April 20, 2012. The service campaign is part of a yearlong celebration of Catholic University's 125th anniversary. Founded in 1887, Catholic University will host a series of events and service projects this year to celebrate its anniversary. University students, alumni, faculty, and staff are encouraged to visit the Cardinal Service Commitment website to log in hours of service they have completed since May 15, 2011, the official start date of the initiative. The website lists the number of hours that have already been completed by the University community, service opportunities, and guidelines for what constitutes service. |
