After the first day of orientation wrapped up with a playfair and a late-night breakfast, new students and their parents learned more about students' new home away from home on the second day of orientation.
In the morning, students gathered for welcome messages from Provost James Brennan and the deans of their respective schools, and met with academic advisers.
In the afternoon, students had the opportunity to tour the Brookland neighborhood, and learn about aspects of college life such as campus ministry, public safety, leadership, financial aid, and career services. The day ended with a Mass in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Once orientation ends, students will be able to participate in the University's Orientation Extended program, a continuation of the four-day program new students experience when they arrive. Students attend events over six weeks that help them transition and acclimate to the University.
