DETAILS | Members of the Catholic University community and residents of the Brookland neighborhood will meet at 6 a.m. by the Metrorail bus stop across Taylor Street from the 7-11 store. The University grounds staff will then organize volunteers into groups to help pick up trash, trim bushes, and cut back weeds along the Taylor Street sidewalk, south side, between Harewood and John McCormack roads. A cookout lunch at the University grounds shop around the corner from Taylor Street will follow the clean-up, which ends at 11:30 a.m. The clean-up was suggested by Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5C representatives, who also helped to organize it. The District Department of Transportation also collaborated on the project. For additional information about the event, contact 202-319-5121. |
