Relocation of Marist Hall Offices Finalized

The Office of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations is in the final stages of implementing the relocation of all offices formerly located in Marist Hall as the University prepares to undertake repairs to that building necessitated by the recent earthquake. The relocation process will be completed by Monday, Sept. 12.

Marist Hall offices have been relocated to Aquinas Hall, the Columbus School of Law building, the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center (JPCC), and Theological College (TC). Below is a complete listing of the relocations.

Anthropology

  • As of Monday, Sept. 12, faculty are located on the first floor of the TC's McCormack Pavilion.
  • The laboratory is located in Mullen Library 222.

English

  • The department's main office is located in JPCC 315.
  • Faculty offices are located throughout the third floor of JPCC.
  • Graduate students are located in JPCC 206.
  • The seminar room is in the JPCC bookstore on the lower level.

Library and Information Science

  • The school's main office is located in Aquinas 106.
  • Faculty offices are located in Aquinas 103, 106, and 107.
  • The SLIS computer lab and information commons are in Leahy 100.

Media Studies

  • The main office is in Columbus School of Law 163C.
  • Faculty are housed in various locations on the third and fourth floors of the law school building.

Politics

  • The main office is located in JPCC 316.
  • Faculty offices are located on the third floor of JPCC.
  • Graduate students are located in JPCC 206.
  • The seminar room is in the JPCC bookstore on the lower level.

Additional Classrooms

  • The Office of Enrollment Services is working to relocate selected classes to three auditoriums in the JPCC lower level - JPCC 071, JPCC 072, and JPCC 058. Faculty and students will be notified if their classes have been moved to one of these locations.

Development

  • Those university development offices formerly located in Marist Hall are now in Marist Annex 124 and 125.

To reach faculty and staff who have been relocated from Marist Hall by phone, members of the University community are advised to dial their regular CUA office numbers. The faculty and staff members will be reachable via call forwarding.

Access to and use of the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center (JPCC) will follow established Catholic University protocol. The University's Department of Public Safety (DPS) will open the CUA offices and classrooms at JPCC at least one hour before the first class of the day - e.g., by 7 a.m. for classes starting at 8:10 a.m. DPS will include JPCC on its regular shuttle route. Limited parking has been secured at the rear of the JPCC building for faculty who have been relocated there.
