| DETAILS: | Internationally acclaimed Benjamin T. Rome School of Music piano professor Ivo Kaltchev and Bulgarian violinist Lilia Donkova will present a recital on Nov. 14. The duo will play selections by Sergei Prokofiev, Maurice Ravel, Ernest Chausson, and Georgii Cherkin. Associate professor and chair of the music school's piano program, Kaltchev is the founder and artistic director of the Bulgarian Music Society Concert Series at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Washington, D.C. He is also the co-director and co-founder of the Washington International Piano Festival, which takes place at CUA each summer. Donkova is the granddaughter of one of the most famous Bulgarian composers and pedagogues, Bentzion Eliezer. She studied at the National Music School of Bulgaria and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London. She is currently a soloist of the Cascais & Oeiras Chamber Orchestra in Portugal and a violin professor at the Cascais Conservatory of Music and St. Jullian's School in Carcavelos, Portugal.
