The lecture will be delivered by Adèle Naudé Santos, dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and principal architect at Santos Prescott and Associates in San Francisco and Somerville, Mass. The George Marcou Memorial Lecture was initiated by the faculty of the architecture and planning school to honor their colleague George Marcou, who was instrumental in the development of the school's first planning program in the 1960s, and whose career at the school spanned 40 years. This lecture is the inaugural lecture in the series, which will feature notable practitioners who are exemplary in the planning field. The Catholic University of America's School of Architecture and Planning is the largest architecture program in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
