WHAT:

Workshop: Standards for Phantoms for the Performance Evaluation and Validation of Optical Medical Imaging Devices

WHEN:

Monday, Nov. 7 - Tuesday, Nov. 8

WHERE: The Catholic University of America Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, Great Room A 620 Michigan Ave., N.E. Washington, D.C.
DETAILS
In a two-day workshop, biomedical engineers from around the world will discuss developing standards for "phantoms" - devices and materials that mimic biological media which are used to test biomedical optical imaging methods and instruments like pulse oximeters, microscopes, and optical coherence tomography.

There will be talks by researchers from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the National Cancer Institute, and a number of internationally recognized university laboratories, including Catholic University.
