Catholic University's Christmas tree lighting takes place on Friday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. in the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, Third Floor Atrium.

The following events will take place over the next month at Catholic University as students, faculty, and staff prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving and the Christmas season. Thanksgiving Dinner with Father Jude Students who are staying on campus during Thanksgiving break are encouraged to sign up to join Rev. Jude DeAngelo, O.F.M. Conv., University chaplain and director of Campus Ministry, for dinner on Nov. 24.

Faculty and staff are invited to donate dessert and rolls for Father Jude's Thanksgiving dinner. Donations should be dropped off in Campus Ministry by Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m. For more information or to sign up to donate, contact Lani Collins , office manager. Winter Apparel Drive Through Dec. 16, the Graduate Students Association is sponsoring a collection of gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and other winter outerwear. CUA Giving Tree From Monday, Nov. 28, to Monday, Dec. 12, the University community is invited to drop off presents at Campus Ministry for children in need. The Annual Christmas Concert for Charity will take place Friday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Great Upper Church.

I'm Dreaming of a Cancer Free Christmas From Monday, Dec. 5, to Saturday, Dec. 10, Colleges Against Cancer will be raising money for the American Cancer Society by selling luminaria stockings to honor loved ones who have survived cancer or to remember loved ones who have lost their battles to cancer. The stockings can be customized and hung on office or residence hall room doors. The group will also be selling "I'm Dreaming of a Cancer Free Christmas" T-shirts.

The week of fundraising will end on Saturday, Dec. 10, with the second annual I'm Dreaming of a Cancer Free Christmas Concert featuring a capella groups Redline, Sixtus, and Take Note at 8 p.m. in the Pryzbyla Center, Great Room.
