The following events will take place over the next month at Catholic University as students, faculty, and staff prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving and the Christmas season. Thanksgiving Dinner with Father Jude Students who are staying on campus during Thanksgiving break are encouraged to sign up to join Rev. Jude DeAngelo, O.F.M. Conv., University chaplain and director of Campus Ministry, for dinner on Nov. 24.
Faculty and staff are invited to donate dessert and rolls for Father Jude's Thanksgiving dinner. Donations should be dropped off in Campus Ministry by Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m. For more information or to sign up to donate, contact Lani Collins , office manager. Winter Apparel Drive Through Dec. 16, the Graduate Students Association is sponsoring a collection of gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and other winter outerwear. CUA Giving Tree From Monday, Nov. 28, to Monday, Dec. 12, the University community is invited to drop off presents at Campus Ministry for children in need. Pryzbyla University Center and John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library, and in baskets in Leahy Hall and Campus Ministry. Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony On Friday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m., Campus Ministry and the Office of Campus Activities host Light the Season! Christmas Concert for Charity The Annual Christmas Concert for Charity, co-sponsored by The Catholic University of America and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, will take place Friday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. The CUA Symphony Orchestra and University Chorus will perform along with the Choir of the Basilica. I'm Dreaming of a Cancer Free Christmas From Monday, Dec. 5, to Saturday, Dec. 10, Colleges Against Cancer will be raising money for the American Cancer Society by selling luminaria stockings to honor loved ones who have survived cancer or to remember loved ones who have lost their battles to cancer. The stockings can be customized and hung on office or residence hall room doors. The group will also be selling "I'm Dreaming of a Cancer Free Christmas" T-shirts.
The week of fundraising will end on Saturday, Dec. 10, with the second annual I'm Dreaming of a Cancer Free Christmas Concert featuring a capella groups Redline, Sixtus, and Take Note at 8 p.m. in the Pryzbyla Center, Great Room.
