The Rev. Julián Carrón, leader of the worldwide ecclesial movement Communion and Liberation (CL), will deliver a lecture and lead a discussion on how modern man can believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ.

Ordained a priest in 1975, Father Carrón holds degrees in theology from Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid and the Faculty of Theology of Northern Spain in Burgos, Spain. Father Carrón specializes in the origins of Christianity and the historicity of the Gospels.

Since 2005, Father Carrón has headed Communion and Liberation, whose purpose is "the education to Christian maturity of its adherents and collaboration in the mission of the Church in all the spheres of contemporary life." Father Carrón is the immediate successor to the Rev. Luigi Giussani, who founded CL in 1954.

Father Carrón serves also as consultor of the Pontifical Council for the Laity. He was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2008.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
