Catholic University's CRUX Magazine for the Creative Arts has earned top honors in a nationwide competition among scholastic publications. The magazine, which publishes original works - from poetry to graphic design - by Catholic University students, alumni, faculty, and staff, earned a First Place with Special Merit Award in the American Scholastic Press Association's (ASPA) 2011 review.

Headed by Catholic University students, CRUX Magazine was founded in 2002 and formally recognized by the University's student government in 2003. Its first edition in 2003 earned a first-place award from the ASPA and a silver award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

In addition to a literary and visual art magazine, CRUX produces CDs of drama, long works of fiction, and music, and hosts events such as poetry readings and concerts.
