Talk by Olympic Gold Medalist Arlene Limas

DETAILS: In anticipation of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Arlene Limas will speak about winning a gold medal in Tae Kwon Do at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, and Olympic ideals and values. The talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

Limas, who began studying martial arts when she was five years old, was the first American female to win a gold medal in Tae Kwon Do. She has won numerous other titles in her career, including the 1991 World Tae Kwon Do Championship in Athens and four National Tae Kwon Do Championships. In 2000 she was selected as one of the top fighters of the 20th century by Tae Kwon Do Times and Martial Arts Illustrated . She is now the owner of Power Kix Martial Arts in Stafford, Va., where she is also an instructor.
