PRESIDENTIAL-CONGRESSIONAL RELATIONS - Matthew Green , associate professor of politics, is an expert on Congress, partisanship and party conflict, and presidential-congressional relations. THE LATINO VOTE - Enrique Pumar , associate professor of sociology, researches areas of comparative national development, race and ethnicity, poverty and inequality, higher education, and urban crime. He recently received a grant from the Smithsonian Latino Center to coordinate the second phase of their Latino DC History Project. He is the author of multiple publications in the areas of political sociology, national development, migration, and crime and security. He is currently editing a book about the Hispanic presence in the Washington metropolitan region. ETHICS AND POLITICS - Claes G. Ryn , professor of politics, can talk about ethics and politics, conservatism and neoconservatism in American thought and politics, the ideology of American empire, the state of democracy, politics and culture, the theory of knowledge, the history of Western political thought, and American political thought and constitutionalism. An honorary professor at Beijing Normal University where he gave the Distinguished Foreign Scholar Lectures at Beijing University, he can also comment on the moral and cultural requirements of peace among persons, peoples and civilizations. The recipient of numerous grants and awards, Ryn is the author of many books, including A Common Human Ground , America the Virtuous , Will, Imagination and Reason , and Democracy and the Ethical Life . ELECTIONS AND THE ELECTORATE - John Kenneth White , presidential scholar and professor of politics, can provide insight and historical perspective on the election and the impact of moral and Catholic values on the American electorate. He is co-author, with Matthew Kerbel, of Party On! Political Parties from Hamilton and Jefferson to Today's Networked Age (2012), and with CUA Professor of Sociology Sandra Hanson, of The American Dream in the 21st Century (2011). He is also the author of "Barack Obama's America: How New Conceptions of Race, Family, and Religion Ended the Reagan Era" (2009). He has served as a guide to the political caucus process for C-SPAN and is a veteran source for print and broadcast journalists. He appeared recently on NPR discussing the American Dream.
