The hermitage and its interior furnishings were designed by students of the School of Architecture and Planning during a 2010 summer design studio in collaboration with the Franciscan Monastery. Their design for the 350-square-foot space won the 2010 Unbuilt Award from the D.C. chapter of the American Institute of Architects. It will open for retreats in October. The event is free and open to the public. For more information and to request disability accommodations, contact Katie Lee at leect@cua.edu . |
