CUA Experts Can Comment on Topics Related to Veterans

Professors at The Catholic University of America are available to comment on topics related to service people and veterans.

  • MILITARY NURSES - Janice Agazio, associate professor of nursing, is an expert on the challenges in nursing practice during wartime, the deployment of military mothers during wartime, military family issues, and the factors of a healthy lifestyle in active-duty military spouses.  With funding from the Triservice Nursing Research Program, Agazio is currently researching the ways that Air Force, Army, and Navy nurses identify, assess, manage, and personally resolve ethical issues occurring in nursing practice during wartime deployments.   • SUICIDE PREVENTION - David Jobes, professor of psychology, can discuss ways to combat suicidal tendencies. Jobes has spent more than 25 years studying suicide prevention and has spoken nationally and internationally on issues related to suicide, including testimony before the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Children and Families. He has consulted with every branch of the military and with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He is currently working with soldiers on a project called "Operation Worth Living" as part of a $3.4 million grant from the Army.
