| DETAILS: | Bishop George V. Murry, S.J., bishop of Youngstown, and Rev. Cyprian Davis, O.S.B., professor emeritus, Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, are the featured speakers. This symposium will explore the faith of black Catholics in the United States. The history of black Catholics and the integral roles they have played in the Church will also be discussed. "This lecture and panel discussion are set in the context of our celebration of the Year of Faith, the New Evangelization, and Black History Month," says Ajani Gibson, a resident minister and member of the Black Student Alliance, which is one of the event sponsors. "We are honored to host Bishop Murry and Father Davis on campus. They are wonderful speakers whose messages resonate with Catholics throughout the nation," added Gibson, a sophomore theology major from New Orleans. The event is free and open to the public.
